My National Championship Pick Against The Spread

I could say these two words and make my point; Nick Saban. It’s a mic drop for anyone trying to disagree. 5 National Championship and he’s probably been thinking about this day every moment since the heartbreaking loss to Clemson last season. In addition, he’s the best coach in the history of college football, 11-0 against former assistants, yada, yada, yada.

But I’ll tell you other reasons I like Alabama -4 (90 percent of the reason is Saban).

Just ask Jared Goff if playoff experience matters. The Crimson Tide are now in their 3rd straight National Championship. Essentially, every starter on their team has played huge minutes, and that will not go unnoticed.

Georgia Freshman QB Jake Fromm might be playing well, but he’s never played in a game with this much pressure. The stress of the Rose Bowl last week didn’t get to him. But going up against the Crimson Tide defense that ranks #1 in points allowed is a whole different story. Plus the QB on ‘Bama’s side is no slouch.

Jalen Hurts is really good and most importantly knows how to protect the football. 25 total touchdowns and just 1 interception all season long. That’s pretty darn good for the sophomore who additionally has the National Championship experience.

RB Play

Michel/Chubb vs. Scarborough/Harris is a wash for me. They duos will combine for over 100 yards on the ground guaranteed. They are just that good.

You know what they say….DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!! Alabama D is the real deal. They are 1st in points allowed and 2nd in total yards allowed per game. The numbers don’t lie. If they get to Fromm early, it might be over before the half. As for Georgia’s D…..

Georgia’s defense played well all season long (4th in points allowed,) but they were exposed last week vs. Baker Mayfield. They gave up 48 points!!! Saban was probably drooling when watching back the tape.

The play

Take Alabama -4. I honestly don’t think it will be close.
