Buffalo Bills Week 9 Preview: For the Billennials

Thursday Night Football. Color Rush. A primetime game that matters. This is AWESOME. I made the comparison earlier in the season that being a Bills fan can be a lot like sky diving. The first half of the jump is the most exhilarating experience, seeing the sights, feeling the rush, being filled with optimism and joy. The Bills are 5-2 and its time to see if we packed that parachute.

If you’re a Bills fan between the ages 18-30…you have deep rooted psychological issues, you are also a Billenial (lol get it? siz). We’re pessimistic by nature. We’ve been consumed by the drought. Anytime anyone looks ahead and makes assumptions in the schedule we get a knot in our stomachs because in the last 17 years we’ve never packed a parachute. It always ends in pure horror.

There’s no reason we shouldn’t feel confident going into a game vs the lowly jets besides the fact that we have been trained to set expectations low. There is no question this coaching staff is changing the culture in the locker room, but it will take actual results to change the culture in the crowd. Tonight every Bills fan will be filled with nervous energy. A feeling Patriots fans only feel once or twice a year and it usually happens end of January/early February.

Here’s a tip for all of the nervous Billenials tonight. The symptoms of nervousness and excitement are exactly the same. If you feel nervous just convince yourself that your F*CKING STOKED because it’s basically the same. It’s a well-known public speaking tactic people use to get over their nerves but I think it applies directly to watching a Bills game.

I am EXCITED about this team. Here’s why:

HOLY HELL OUR JERSEYS TONIGHT. Color Rush, white on white on white with white helmets and WHITE FACEMASKS. I think this will be the best dressed team the NFL has ever seen.

Kelvin Benjamin. The front office sent a clear message to the fans this week trading for star Panthers Reciever Kelvin Benjamin. Whether or not he plays tonight I love the attitude that everyone is all in on winning now.

Lesean McCoy…he’s just so sick.

Look at the freakin energy on the sidelines after this play, never seen a Bills sideline with this type of energy. Starts with the coach.

Our sideline was lit. 🔥 #GoBills
