Last Saturday was the craziest weekend in college football so far with Clemson, Michigan, and Washington all going down. Week 12 has already seen an upset Thursday night when Louisville lost their second game of the season to Houston. It is Houston’s second win over a top 5 AP after they defeated Oklahoma earlier in the season. Does the second loss hurt Lamar Jackson’s chance at winning the Heisman? Absolutely. Next man up is Baker Mayfield who is involved in one of out top match ups today. Here are five games today that we highly recommend you watch.
#2 Ohio State @ Michigan State – 12pm (ESPN)
While they may be ranked second overall in the most recent College Football Playoff rankings, they need some help in order to secure a spot in the Big Ten Championship. Many people think that if they win out, that is good enough to secure a spot in the final four. I disagree. The Buckeyes need to win their conference championship. But Urban Meyer knows they cannot overlook their next two opponents. OSU travels to Lansing Michigan today to take on the Spartans in a game that could be effected by the weather. Good teams do not let that happen. If they win today, they then take on their biggest rival in Michigan which has a lot on the line. For Sparty, remember last year when Connor Cook was out, and Michigan State had to rely on their back up? What happened? Sparty came away victorious. Crazy things can happen!
#23 Florida @ #16 LSU – 1pm (SEC Network)
It has been six weeks since Hurricane Matthew postponed this game which caused much debate and frustration in the SEC. The league finally decided on a date and time, and instead of playing the game in Gainesville as it was originally scheduled, the Gators will have to travel to Baton Rouge. While that does suck, the bigger question is why isn’t this game on CBS for everyone to see? The Gators need to beat the Tigers on the road to clinch the SEC East. If Florida loses, then they need Tennessee to lose to either Missouri or Vanderbilt. If not, the Volunteers are your SEC East champs. Lets be honest though, whoever comes out of the East will lose to Alabama. At this point, they are just playing for a New Years Bowl Game. If you need any inspiration for this game, we got you covered.

#22 Washington State @ #10 Colorado – 3:30pm (FOX)
Who would have thought this game would have any importance at the beginning of the season. It is mid November and not these programs are battling for their division leaders. What’s even crazier is that these two schools could meet again in the Pac-12 Championship. Now with that being said, neither of these programs can afford a loss if they want to be crowned Pac-12 champions, and to have any shot of reaching the Final Four, both these teams absolutely must win this game. The player to watch in this game is Cougs quarterback Luke Falk. Many scouts believe Falk has the best pro ready arm for the next level. Any quarterback soars under the Mike leach system and Falk is continuing that trend. The Junior has thrown for 3,610 yards through the air, 33 touchdowns, and just 6 picks. Lets see what he can do against this top defense that is very creative in their blitzes.
#9 Oklahoma @ #14 West Virginia – 8pm (ABC)
The Big 12 does not have a championship game which is unfortunate. While it does not crown a conference championship, these final two weekends are very similar to a playoff style system. Whoever wins this game is in the driver seat to land a possible top 4 seed when the final CFP rankings are announced. If the Sooners want to win the Big 12, they just have to win their next two games against the WVU squad and then against in state rival Oklahoma State. For the mountaineers, they need to win tonight, and Oklahoma to lose again against the Cowboys. With Louisville’s loss on Thursday night, that opens the door for a possible Big 12 team to enter the conversation and earn the right to play in the College Football Playoffs.
Buffalo @ #21 Western Michigan – 3:30pm (ESPNU)
Got to save the best for last right. As a Buffalonian, I am very nervous as to what is about to happen at 3:30pm. Buffalo is about to get their asses handed to them as they are one of the worst college football programs in the country. They lost to Albany, an FCS school to open the season. It doesn’t get much lower then that. Western Michigan was just 1-11 a couple of seasons ago and now they are undefeated. UB has been shitty since they became a D1 program against except for that one season when they won the MAC and lost to UCONN in a bowl game. While Game Day is in Kalamazoo today, another reason to watch is Broncos wide out Corey Davis who has the potential to be a first round pick. Western Michigan wins 100-0.
This article is not over yet. What is going on with the SEC scheduling cupcakes this late in the season? Western Carolina? Austin Peay? Chattanooga? Louisiana Lafayette? Alabama A&M? Yup. Get paid half a million to get your asses handed to you in week 12 doesn’t look great on the schedule if you are fighting for a top bowl game.
